And here I am, showing off my new skirts and aprons from Katie's Mercantile. They will be my "Town and church" clothes because the other skirts have big different-coloured maternity panels and the aprons are covered in paint!! (From painting the dairy studio... which is almost done.) I'll mostly wear the old skirts and aprons here on the farm ~ they are still lovely!Saturday, 16 July 2011
Updates, Photo dump :-))
A lovely 100% wool rug that I found cheap on sale ~ perfect for the dairy studio and deffinately being enjoyed by the kids! :-)
I've recently purchased a few vegan and vegetarian cook books so that I can learn how to prepare vegtable dishes. Because at this point in time I hate veg. And it's working so well!! (I will still eat meat but not as much. Heavy red meat doesn't agree with me much any more. Did it ever??) Here I've tried my hand at stuffed red pepper and baked mushrooms coated in a hand made sauce. The pepper came out aaaawesome! The mushrooms were a bit too overdone. But practice makes perfect!!
A dear friend, Sister Mary of the Pure Heart, passed away two days ago. I will miss her so much! Sister

Nice to see a post from you again! I'm on your page about every day because I also use it to go to the blogs on your list!
Blessings!
p.s. your kids are such beautiful cutie pies!
Nice to see you back. Your children are adorable. Hope the summer is good to you and yours.
Great pics! The children are so beautiful! Nice to see and hear from an "old friend!"
S.
I could do with an apron like that myself. but with 2 pockets on the front.
Michelle, you are looking really well!
Gee, haven't the children grown!
I managed to find popover aprons online (in Australia)with a big pocket and they are great.
I am not so sure of the rug though; it is the English flag by the look of it and I would be a bit leery of walking on the flag of another country or my own for that matter.
Nice to see you back again. Good health to you and yours.

Slice of Life: look closer. Michelle's apron has 2 pockets on the front.
Like the flounces on the skirt, but the children are precious. They look happy and interested in life and each other! What a threesome! God bless your family with happy times.
Your children as so cute!
Michelle,
I've purchased coulottes and buncovers from KM; they're very good indeed. the rest of my wardrobe - skirts, waistcoats, dresses, pettiblouses, smallclothes, comes from www.thekingsdaughters.com who are also excellent.
Re your embarkation into the world of Vegetarian cookery, you may wish to get a hold of rose Elliot's 'Learning to cook vegetarian'. This is an excellent book, its introduction is comprehensive re what foods yield the best amounts of nutriant (with emphasis on best source for iron, protein and calcium, daily requirements for all ages and stages of life, for men and women etc, plus portion sizes. this is important when adjusting to a majority veg diet. a tip; Miso is an excellent source of B12; I use it in all manner of dishes and though it acts as a savoury agent, it doesn't overwhelm said dish. was veg before marrying; now I would be classed as one who operates in a 'nutriant dense' environment; hubby likes to be carniverous - but i squeeze veg dishes in on Wed's and Fri's.
Blessings, happy cookery and happy KM-wearing,
Sarah,
Australia.
the food looks great!! :) I used to not like vegs. as much. Well, actually I hated them. We had to pick one veg. and eat it when we were young. Seems I always picked purple hulls, and my sister picked green beans--but, hey it seems we are pretty much opposites on a lot of things--she looks like dad, I look like mom. she likes vanilla, mustard, pickles......I like chocolate, ketchup, and hate pickles.......love cucumbers, though. We always loved corn on the cob, but I guess that's not a true green veg. :) Now I really like some and love others!! :) I'm eating less meat, too, I think. Your kids are really cute.......and you seem like a very interesting soul. :) I saw you on here last Winter and just found you today. Hope your health improves, and I hope you enjoy your farm and your life. God Bless. :)
look into Sally Fallon's Nourishing Traditionsa great book with loads of nutrition info
